UBT Journey’s Smarter in September series is back!

September always feels like a fresh start — a time for learning, planning, and getting life in order. If you’re craving a little enrichment, we’ve got you covered. Back by popular demand, our Smarter in September virtual series returns to your favorite screen with expert-led sessions on topics we all want to understand better. It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s designed to make you feel a little more confident and informed.
Join us every other Tuesday at 2 p.m. — September 2, 16, and 30 — for practical tips, thoughtful insights, and plenty of “aha” moments. This year’s lineup includes meaningful conversations around end-of-life planning, navigating dementia with loved ones, and smart alternatives to mailing checks and cash. Each session is live and interactive, with time for questions at the end. Some presenters will share handouts ahead of time to help you get the most from the experience.
Register using the links below. Sign up for as many sessions as you like — but hurry, you’ll want to have the link and be ready to go, and you’ll receive the link when you register. (We do record the sessions, but they’re even better in real time. It’s handy for reviewing, though!)
Smarter Personal Expressions: A Guide to Celebrating a Life Well Lived
Tuesday, September 2 | 2 p.m.
Featuring Kevin Orth, Director of Preneed Planning and Community Outreach – Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home
“Life is what you celebrate. ALL of it. Even its end.” — Joanne Harris
Give your loved ones the final gift of a memorable and well-planned life. In this heartfelt session, we’ll take a brief introspective look at our lives — past, present, and future — with an emphasis on gathering key thoughts, memories, and wishes. This process offers direction and guidance when it’s needed most. Your loved ones will know without a doubt what your personal wishes are and be able to carry them out, helping to relieve the emotional burdens of funeral planning. In doing so, they’ll be free to support one another, celebrate you, and focus on the memories of a life well lived.
