Wellness Incentives
Rewarding your healthy choices
They say good health is its own reward, but we think your healthy choices deserve an extra bonus — in this case, extra time off! Associates can earn up to two additional paid days off per year by participating in preventive screenings, fitness programs, and wellness seminars or events.
Community Involvement Days
Lend a hand and earn time off
Here at UBT, we care about our community, our customers, and each other — and that means we enthusiastically encourage our associates to give freely of their time and talents through our Community Involvement program. So enthusiastically, in fact, that we’ll even reward your efforts with additional paid time off when you participate in enough activities organized by our Community Involvement Committee. Good for you and the community — now that’s a win-win.
Leaves of Absence & FMLA
We know that sometimes life gets in the way, and situations arise where you may need to be absent from work for longer than a simple vacation. If you need to be absent for more than three consecutive days, you may be eligible for a leave of absence. Additionally, UBT offers up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for events such as welcoming a new child or navigating serious health conditions for yourself or an immediate family member. Although the absence is unpaid, your job status, pay, and benefits are protected under FMLA. Below, you’ll find details on other programs you can participate in that offer pay while you’re out.
Disability salary continuation
UBT’s disability salary continuation program is funded 100% by the bank and allows for eligible employees to continue to get paid in the event of a qualified disability, such as recovery from surgery or extended illness.
Parental leave
UBT offers two weeks of paid time off for parents of a newborn or newly adopted child in order to give you a little extra bonding time with your new little one. Following childbirth, short-term disability salary continuation will be offered to eligible new mothers for all types of delivery during their eight week disability period. By packaging a number of programs, all new parents can have up to eight weeks of paid time off, and all new birth mothers can have up to 12 weeks of paid time off.
Bereavement leave
Losing a loved one is hard, and we want you to have time to grieve, make arrangements, and attend services. Depending on relationship, up to ten days of paid funeral leave are available for full- and part-time associates who work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Supplemental sick time
At the end of each year, all accrued and unused sick time carries over into supplemental sick time, up to a maximum of 160 hours. Although officer-level associates do not have a formal sick or supplemental sick program, they are eligible for up to six weeks of paid time off as needed for those who add to their families.
UBT’s short-term disability salary continuation policy offers pay to associates while they are recovering from extended illnesses and injuries. After a two-week waiting period, UBT will begin paying a portion of your base monthly salary if you are injured or ill (including maternity) and unable to work for an extended period of time. Associates receive 100% of lost income for four weeks and 60% for an additional 20 weeks. Officer-level associates receive 100% of lost income for a full 24 weeks. You are automatically eligible for this program beginning the first of the month, following one full month of continuous service greater than 30 hours per week.
