He received a Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge, graduating summa cum laude. Mr. Nownes is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and is past President of the Pension Council of the Midlands.
